Clarinet
Cassandra “Cassie” Nielsen is a clarinetist and educator with more than seven years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and an Artist Diploma from The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School. Her performance career centres on orchestral and chamber music, and she has served as interim second clarinet with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra.
Cassie emphasizes the fundamentals of healthy clarinet playing, using thoughtfully selected études and repertoire to build technique, musicality, and confidence. She tailors lessons to each student’s interests so that learning remains engaging and personally meaningful. Above all, Cassie strives to make classical music accessible and relatable, helping students discover the joy,
expression, and freedom of making music. Outside the studio, she enjoys hiking, knitting, and getting lost in a good book.
