Trumpet

Laura Kuri - is a trumpet performer and educator with six years of post-secondary training in trumpet performance at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory, where she completed her Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma. She has four years of experience teaching trumpet and music theory and served as a Music Theory Teaching Assistant and Tutor at The Glenn Gould School from 2023–2026.

An active performer, Laura has experience in orchestral, chamber, and freelance settings throughout the GTA. She was named one of CBC Music’s “30 Under 30” classical Canadian musicians in 2026, participated in the National Arts Centre Orchestra Mentorship Program and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, and serves as Principal Trumpet of the Georgian Bay Symphony for the 2026–2027 season.

Laura’s teaching approach combines strong musical fundamentals with an encouraging and enjoyable learning environment. She adapts repertoire, exercises, and pacing to each student’s goals, interests, and learning style. Her goal is to help students become confident, well-rounded musicians while challenging them to grow, discover their own connection to music, and experience the joy of making music.
