Juan De Zubiria B.Mus.

Juan De Zubiria is a Colombian bassist, performer, educator, arranger, and producer who is passionate about guiding students through their musical journey and celebrating their progress along the way. His lessons develop strong foundations in technique, tone, rhythm, music reading, and theory, while also making room for each student’s individual interests and goals. Patient and
encouraging, Juan understands that learning an instrument is not a race and that every student progresses at their own pace.

Juan hopes to inspire students to develop the same love for the bass that he has, while discovering the unique role of a rhythm-section player—where musicians can shine by helping those around them shine. In recognition of his musicianship, he received Humber College’s Suyun Kim Memorial Award in 2018.
