Laurence Schaufele B.Mus.

Laurence Schaufele is a versatile violinist and violist whose musical experience spans classical, jazz, klezmer, Celtic, bluegrass, progressive rock, and other genres. Originally from rural southern Alberta, he trained in the European classical tradition and developed an early love for chamber music. He graduated from The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School in 2015 with a degree in Viola Performance.

Laurence has toured and performed with string quartets, orchestras, and contemporary ensembles across four continents.

He also recorded with the jazz-classical ensemble SymphRONica on its JUNO-nominated album UpfRONt.

As a teacher, Laurence draws on this broad musical background to help students develop solid technique, curiosity, and an appreciation for many styles of music.

Outside the studio, he enjoys cooking, walking his dog, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
