Martin Hernandez B.Mus.

Martin Hernandez is a Toronto-based drummer, recording artist, and educator with a Bachelor of Music from Humber College. Throughout his musical journey, he has studied with respected drummers and educators including Tino Contreras, Matt Starr, Stéphane Chamberland, Gary Chaffee, Juan “Carlito” Mendoza, Larnell Lewis, and Henrique De Almeida.

Martin’s passion for teaching grew from the patience, generosity, and knowledge shared by his own mentors. In his lessons, he passes that experience forward by helping students understand both the technique of drumming and the instrument’s role within music. He encourages curiosity, careful listening, and openness to new ideas and concepts. As a performer and producer, Martin
has also recorded and released his own EP, The Milestone, in collaboration with accomplished musicians.
